Position: Real Estate Accounting Manager

1. Japan GAAP and US/IFRS Financial Reporting and Analysis
▪ Understand local and Global company Financial Governance accounting policy and partner with Financial Reporting team in order to support an accurate and effective Real Estate accounting processes including - lease and fixed assets
▪ Understand Japan GAAP and US/IFRS impact on Real Estate business by partnering with market and regional technical leads
▪ Strong interaction and alignment with Reporting and Consolidations teams to ensure financial accuracy, technical compliance, consistency of activity is maintained and to improve business process
▪ Collaborate and liaise with cross-functional teams, in particular Company Finance Planning & Analysis team (FP&A) and Real Estate business, to ensure the appropriate period end financial close process is completed effectively and in an effective manner
▪ Partner with Reporting and Consolidations teams to ensure the appropriate period end financial close process is completed effectively and in an effective, accurate and timely manner in accordance with all local statute and relevant GAAP (Japan and US/IFRS) pronouncements

2. Japan GAAP and US/IFRS Financial Consolidation
▪ Support Japan Controllership Consolidations team in ensuring that Company in Japan and underlying Real Estate transactions are recorded in an effective, accurate, and timely manner in accordance with all local statute and relevant GAAP (Japan and US/IFRS) pronouncements.
▪ Support Japan Controllership Consolidations team in the production and delivery of the relevant monthly Japan GAAP and US/IFRS financial statement areas, ensuring they are performed in a timely, effective, accurate, and efficient manner to meet all reporting deliverables

3. IPO Preparation in Japan Market
▪ Work with external auditors in establishing and managing a timely audit required under Japan regulations upon and post IPO
▪ Work and manage internal teams, external consultants and external auditors to draft public disclosures and to establish thorough review processes. Also work with Global Controllership in understanding global requirements and adopting best in class practice.
▪ Understand new requirements under IPO and work with Director – Real Estate Accounting to design and establish such processes, while working with local management upon adoption

4. Accounting Policies 
▪ Understand both domestic and international accounting policies to ensure financial accuracy of activity performed within Real Estate Accounting
▪ Support the Real Estate technical lead to ensure local Real Estate practices are properly documented and in line with accounting policies
▪ Support the Real Estate technical lead to research and document Real Estate policies submitted for review by Corporate
▪ Support the Real Estate technical lead to ensure local business is made aware of upcoming Real Estate policy changes and impact is accurately forecasted.

5. People Leadership/ Support Global Controllership Organization Effectiveness
▪ Develop team members (manage objectives and offer advice)
▪ Ensure ethical guidelines thoroughly.
▪ Understand and partner with the Assistant Controller to drive Global Controllership initiatives both in the area of Real Estate, Consolidation, and other Finance areas.
▪ Understand and partner with the Assistant Controller to drive organizational change that maintains an effective Global Controllership team that aligns with a global functional design.
▪ Liaise Company Global Finance and Controllership teams, and local leadership team, to assist with driving the effective implementation and sustainment of any Company Global accounting and finance initiatives (e.g., SAP implementation, HFM, ABS, etc.).
▪ Ensure that local Company associates are provided technical guidance on local GAAP, Group Accounting Policies by assisting with education on current GAAP concepts, evaluating and identifying solutions to technical or routing accounting issues, and researching and providing input on complex accounting matters.

6. Partner with Japan Shared Services/Offshore Team
▪ Partner with Japan Shared Services to oversee and ensure financial accuracy of activity maintained within Japan Shared Services organization.
▪ Partner with direct reports, business functional areas and Japan Shared Services to improve business process and optimize accounting system information.
▪ Support and drive efficiency within the finance organization by supporting the use of Company in Japan Shared Services.

応募資格

▪ Accounting experience in Real Estate Industry/Fixed Asset experience or experience in lease accounting
▪ Japan GAAP and public company disclosure knowledge

Nice-to-have:
▪ Japan CPA, US CPA or Charted Accountant
▪ Business level Japanese/English
▪ Accounting/Controllership experience, preferably in a fortune 500 corporation overseen by a foreign parent company, or in a Japanese public company as manager or above
▪ Public audit experience: preferably with clients who are overseen by a foreign parent company
▪ Accounting advisory experience: GAAP conversion, close acceleration, technical accounting issue solving
