The company is currently hiring a Dev Team Manager to strengthen the development team operations. The Dev P&C team is in the Open Engineering Department, and manages customer facing applications used to create, quote and buy insurance products in addition to internal facing applications used to manage policies and claims. As the leader of the Dev P&C team, the manager will leverage their communication, leadership, and technical expertise skills to help define and implement best practices, collaborate with stakeholders, and build the skills and capacity of the dev team to deliver high-quality and user-satisfying software solutions.

Operations
・The manager will write and review code in a hands-on manner. Give expert advice and coaching to the engineers in their team. Manage team members to develop and implement operational targets and contribute to the achievement of the department’s goals.

Communication, Influence, and Persuasion
・The manager will exhibit strong leadership and communication skills. Take responsibility for communication with internal and external stakeholders. Reach agreement by fostering a sense of satisfaction even when stakeholders have different opinions.

Innovation
・The manager will keep in touch with engineering trends and use this knowledge to form opinions on software architecture and technology to craft elegant, scalable, and innovative solutions to complex challenges. Direct the team to propose new initiatives that bring added value and contribute to the achievement of the department's and company's medium to long-term strategic goals.

Knowledge
・The manager will lead by example and be the technical subject matter expert, with a broad understanding spanning both their own operational area and beyond. Develop and implement cross-functional and cross-departmental operational measures.

Professional Development
・The manager will build their team up, by identifying the skills and expertise necessary for success, and working together with them to define roadmaps that motivate them to achieve even greater results.

応募資格

Must have:

  • Prior experience in a technical leadership position
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a software engineer developing web applications
  • Technical competence with both front end and back-end development
  • Expertise with Java, Gosu, or another Java equivalent/similar language


Good to have:

  • Competence with AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar cloud application development
  • Solid understanding of both SDLC and Agile development
  • Proficiency in modern relational database operations and performance optimization
  • Familiarity with APIs and microservice architecture
  • Experience with code versioning tools and code quality tools
  • Familiarity with JS libraries and frameworks
  • Experience with Guidewire, Al Fresco
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry

  • Conduct code reviews to give meaningful advice and feedback
  • Create a safe environment that encourages a growth mindset, where all feel safe to share ideas
