Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage projects or sub-projects, including maintaining project status and related documentation, coordinating project-related activities, and tracking performance.
- Perform analysis and design, including coordinating meetings with business users, defining and structuring requirements, and leading the creation and documentation of detailed solution designs.
- Develop applications, including interacting with vendors to convert designs and technical specifications into computer programs following programming standards and best practices.
- Test and document, including performing data migration, cleansing, and review of code and related documentation as required.
- Provide technical production support of applications, including monitoring the performance of production applications, providing technical assistance to users, and helping structure the technical support of applications.
- Facilitate the transition of programs from development into production, including creating deployment packages and deployment-related documentation.
- Coordinate with regional/local teams to transfer project ownership towards local support and maintenance.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
- University degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Excellent spoken and written Japanese, as well as fluent English.
- Excellent communication skills, experience working directly with end users, understanding of business requirements and translating them into solutions, curiosity, pragmatism, proactivity, and the ability to work independently.
- Structured, with the ability to provide regular and consistent reporting.
- Understanding of the technical environment (MS SQL, BI, etc.) and the ability to help structure technical support.
- Very good functional understanding of retail business and digital/CRM topics.
- Good design skills, including the ability to structure and formalize requirements with key users and translate them into detailed designs for vendor quotation and development.
- Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and provide thought leadership and perspective.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in system support/development.
- Experience working in a multi-brand and dynamic organization, interacting with various levels: local, regional, and central.
- Strong technical skills combined with exceptional business understanding in the front-office/digital space and the ability to support these business users.
