Vice President – Technical Marketing (VP Technical Marketing)

The available position is with a global full service aircraft asset management firm for the Tokyo office.

• Duration: Full-time   

Job Description

• As a member of the team based in Tokyo, the primary responsibility is to provide technical support and customized asset management services (including reporting in Japanese) to our Partner Company and the investor community in Japan.
• Responsible for supporting our existing partner relationship in Japan through reporting, informing, and consulting providing customized asset management services (including reporting in Japanese) to both the Partner Company and Japanese Investors.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, strategy, and other departments of the Partner Company for the development of technically oriented marketing materials.
• Prepare technical reports in Japanese answering technical questions from the Partner Company, and investors on the basis of reports prepared by the technical team.
• Build strong relations with the management, sales, marketing, and strategy teams of Partner Company providing asset management services and technical sales support.
• Educate the sales team of the Partner Company on technical topics based on materials prepared by the technical team.
• Attend meetings with investors providing explanation and clarification about the in the inhouse technical capabilities of the company, and update on assets / market trends of technical nature.
• Propose to the technical team options to better address the Japanese investors questions.
• Support growth and market recognition of the company in Japan as an independent asset manager with strong in-house technical capabilities.
• Provide feedback on the Japanese investor market expectations from a technical perspective. 
• While the main responsibilities are of a technical nature, the successful candidate should be open to accepting responsibilities and tasks whenever necessary.
• Contribute to building of the company’s presence in the Japanese market as an aircraft asset manager with strong in-house technical capabilities.
• The position is to be Tokyo based reporting to the Head of Japan/Managing Director.

 

 

Requirements

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Native Japanese with business level English.
• Experienced or willingness to learn and become familiar with industry related aviation finance lease contracts.
• Report writing and presentation skills.
• Have a can–do attitude with ability to work independently.
• Strong time management and organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines.
• Engineering graduate in aeronautical or experienced in Aircraft Maintenance.
• Professional experience ideally gained in an airline in a technical services role or in a leasing company in a technical role directly related to the job function.
• Technical knowledge of commercial narrow and wide body aircraft.
• Familiarity with Aircraft technical publications such as AMM’s, IPC’s, Service Bulletins, AD’s
• Familiarity with Aircraft maintenance program, records and related technical documentation.
• Familiarity with OEM data systems such as MyBoeingFleet and Airbus World.
• Eagerness to learn IT skills and software programs related to the position.
• Self-motivated, adaptable and a team player.
• Ability to learn, understand, interpret and apply regulatory requirements.
