Our client in Tokyo, Japan, is searching for a human resources professional to join their APAC Team. This role will contribute to the company's performance by managing HR operations and collaborating with business managers to enhance team leadership, motivation, and development.

  • As a member of the global People team, this position promotes a positive company culture focused on quality, continuous improvement, employee engagement, and performance excellence.
  • Responsibilities include ensuring consistent and fair application of company policies, meeting legal requirements, and fostering a favorable employee relations environment.
  • Frontline support will be provided to all employees and managers, covering various aspects of the employee lifecycle.
  • Collaboration with the global People team and local leaders is essential for implementing initiatives that align with business needs and company-wide goals.
  • Involvement in local and global HR projects and initiatives, such as HR transformation and employee surveys, is required.
  • This role will also assist in investigating employee relations issues and responding to stakeholder inquiries, while staying updated on Japan's regional policies and regulations to formulate compliant HR policies.
  • This position involves leading local HR projects, supporting talent development initiatives, assisting with financial aspects related to headcount and budget tracking, participating in recruitment and onboarding processes, and managing payroll and social insurances while addressing related queries and ensuring compliance.

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Native level Japanese and business-level fluency in English

  • Excellent communication skills in Japanese and English

  • HR Operations experience in an international environment 

  • Strong knowledge of Japanese labor laws and industry best practices

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and a strong attention to numbers and detail

  • Knowledge of Workday, Google Suites, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
