Active Directory Specialist

The Active Directory Specialist supports, secures, and enhances the Microsoft Active Directory-related technologies within our enterprise environment.

Responsibilities:

• Be self-motivated with a proactive mindset
• 24/7 operational support of 42 domain controllers hosting 10 AD domains
• Perform security enhancement changes in Group Policy and the OS layer following Change Control procedures according to the industry standard ITIL framework.
• Actively engaging in a multi-year migration project to the global platform.
• Work closely with other project members as well as the larger Technology department in Japan and the larger global organization.

Key Accountabilities:

• Zero change-related Active Directory service disruptions
• Improve the security posture of AD
• Smooth account migration project completion
• Plan and execute AD changes with minimum service disruption
• Improve the security ratings of AD systems
• Successful completion of AD migration initiatives within project deadlines

Qualifications:

• Experienced at least 3 years as an Active Directory Engineer in an Enterprise Environment
• Working knowledge of the ITIL Foundation framework
• Take a proactive approach to troubleshooting
• Adhere to the principles of continuous process improvement
• Working knowledge of industry-standard security best practices
• Technical knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, and the Windows Server Operating System

Non-Technical Competencies:

• Project management and execution experience a plus
• Ability to think strategically and see the big picture
• Understanding the difference between a short-term tactical fix and a long-term strategic solution
• Perseverance under pressure
• Have the ability to innovate have a growth mindset 
• A sense of problem ownership and personal accountability
• Willingness to work flexible hours
