Purpose of Role:
You will be part of a regional and global HRIS team that supports international and group HR functions by shaping customer requirements, analyzing Workday alternatives, providing recommendations, and developing appropriate technical and business solutions to meet HR and HRIS objectives. You will lead technology projects/solutions, provide guidance, and mentor less-experienced HRIS team members. You will research, analyze, and present multiple Workday module solutions and strategy recommendations. Additionally, you will deliver high-quality solutions while adhering to data security, privacy requirements, and IT General Controls.
Collaboration, proactivity, curiosity, and analytical thinking are key to working with cross-functional teams, including HR and IT peer groups.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Provide optimized Workday solutions based on experience in implementation, design, and operations.
Assess the current system and business process architectures and recommend improvements, solutions, or strategies.
Develop, enhance, and maintain established service design procedures and processes by applying frameworks and methodologies.
Provide expert guidance and mentoring to HRIS staff, ensuring technical delivery teams provide efficient and effective solutions.
Prepare and present technical presentations and briefings.
Lead consistent utilization of internal tools for ticketing and configuration management.
Partner with regional and global HRIS leadership to focus on short- and long-term impacts.
Ensure compliance with IT General Controls and employee data privacy and security requirements.
Lead or contribute to special projects identified by the Global HRIS leadership team in support of CHROs.
Stay informed on HR technology trends and recommend new systems and technologies to regional and global directors.
Work Environment:
The Japan-based team consists of approximately 40 members, part of a global team of about 80. The Japan team includes a large operations group supporting company-wide and group-level HR, PMO, and Japan-specific solution designs.
Mandatory Qualifications:
General Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience implementing and optimizing the Workday SaaS platform or similar platforms.
Experience developing operational protocols and processes to optimize Workday or similar SaaS platforms.
Proven experience in building Workday designs and operations grounded in quality principles.
Hands-on leadership experience collaborating with peers and superiors to create strategies for HRIS function and HR experience improvement.
Demonstrable success through collaboration with HR and IT partners.
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to deliver information quickly and make data-driven, sound recommendations.
Self-starter thriving in a fast-paced environment, capable of multitasking and adapting to change.
Technical Competencies:
At least five years of success as a Workday Implementer and/or Design/Operational Leader in a multinational, publicly traded company.
Proven ability to form lasting relationships with HRIS, HR leadership, executives, IT teams, and vendors delivering Workday solutions.
Comprehensive understanding and utilization of the Workday platform.
Track record of building and leading a team of Workday professionals.
Understanding of HR data security, privacy, and IT General Controls within an HRIS context.
Unique Skills:
Ability to understand project scope and identify required resources for tasks or responsibilities.
Knowledge of software development life cycle activities (e.g., requirements, analysis, design, testing, and deployment), including agile methodologies.
