Manager Financial Reporting (#8689)

We are looking for an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to join our client’s team in Tokyo. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across US GAAP, J GAAP, and J STAT, while driving standardization and efficiency on a regional and global scale.

• Act as a key liaison between the Japan legal entity Controller teams and the NY Controller team, addressing financial reporting inquiries and requests

• Prepare quarterly US GAAP financial reports, including accounting memos and variance analysis

• Handle J GAAP financial statements and tax filings for non-insurance entities in Japan

• Oversee J STAT consolidated financial reporting for the Japan holding company

• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Reinsurance, and Actuarial

• Support various finance transformation initiatives

• Degree-level qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred)

• 10+ years of experience in accounting and financial reporting within the insurance industry

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and J GAAP (standalone & consolidated reporting)

• Fluency in English and Japanese (verbal and written)

• Ability to collaborate in a global, multicultural environment

• Strong communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders, including overseas teams
