Our client is a well-known European homeware company.
Job description
1. Manage and oversee financial accounting operations.
(ア) Lead accounting operation functions for areas including fixed assets, pre-paid assets and accruals, lease asset/liability, royalty payments, payroll, cash, insurance, allowances and reserves.
(イ) Review financial statements and account reconciliations to assure adherence to Group Accounting Policies.
(ウ) Recommend and manage process improvements to simplify, standardize and streamline financial accounting activities.
2. Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
(ア) Schedule and manage the closing process on time as one team.
(イ) Preparation of accurate monthly Accounting Control Pack (ACP) and audited Consolidation Pack to the group
3. Handle tax filings and audit responses.
(ア) Preparing and submitting documents to external tax accountant.
(イ) Preparing for and responding to PWC audits and ad-hoc tax audit.
(ウ) Recommend and manage process improvements for simplification and regulatory compliance.
4. Develop and manage annual budget by engaging with all functions
(ア) Develop and own budget management process including scheduling, bottom-up inputs consolidation across functions (including MD, Marketing, Retail, Sales, e-com, HRGA, APAC IT, Group HQ), and prepare local annual budget (PL/BS/CF).
(イ) Review monthly results, provide spending visibility to functions, collect and manage year-to-go spending plan to update full year landing estimate monthly.
(ウ) Recommend potential areas of focus to deliver annual budget target
5. Manage and develop Finance team members (manage team of three people)
(ア) Hire, develop and retain team talents.
(イ) Mentor and support team members’ development plan and foster a collaborative environment.
(ウ) Assess and manage team performance through regular reviews, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining financial integrity
Requirements
必須要件
- University degree or higher, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- More than 10 years of Finance or FP&A experience
- Functional knowledge of IFRS
- More than 5 years of people management and leadership experience
- Strong communication skills across cross-functional teams
- Advanced analysis data skills using Excel and/or Power BI
- Native-level proficiency in Japanese
- Business-level proficiency in English
- Legal eligibility to work in Japan
- ERP system implementation experience will be a plus

- Navision (Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2), Plan to upgrade to cloud base in 2024 H2 or later
- Digital platform for associate expenses and PO approval
- BillOne (Online Invoice Receipt platform to digitally receive and book vendor invoices)
