The solution architect role is responsible for evaluating IT Japan systems & service, for working with teams for architecture design and integration, for ensuring the solution and system are compliant with the company's standards and for supporting IT Japan to equip with enough technical capability and insight to meet the business needs. In addition, this role can lead a complex technical project like the global tech modernization and provides necessary consultation to project teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Solution Architect (50%)
Review all system design and data flow proposals of Japan new projects (local or global solution integration) and change control suggestion. Provide a timely suggestion for architecture (technologies to be used, data flow design, authentication method and data encryption to protect data, etc.). Evaluate technical components to be used and its associated technical challenges. Develop & Maintain Japan Architecture strategic roadmap and architecture dashboard.
Project Lead of key architectural change project (20-25 %)
Execute a timely remediation and handle technical issues during remediation. As needed, escalate critical issues to the lead architect. Lead to modernize/advance Japan affiliate architecture. Continue to evolve Japan architecture (Solution and Data levels) which are aligned with business goals and objectives. Provide a timely update of project status and challenges with suggested solutions. Escalate it to upper level as needed.
Lead of Innovation/Emerging Tech adoption (15~ 20 %)
Evaluate a technical feasibility and business value of new solution/concept. Identify proactively business opportunities by bringing ideas to Japan affiliate. Design and develop POV(Proof of Value)/POC(Proof of Concept) plan with business engagement and internal & external technical experts, collaborate with multiple regional teams and assist as needed like new tech testing and training. Drive a POC from planning, interacting with suppliers or global partners (Information Security, Infrastructure, Architecture etc.) and IT and interpret its result to business value.
Upskilling (5%)
Educate IT Japan about Enterprise Architecture Principles, Standard Technologies, Emerging technologies like Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, the best practices and external trends.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or similar experience
Deep knowledge of Japan market and environment
Around 8+ year work experience in technical and data analytics areas such as System Design, Application Development, Data flow design, Solution or Data Architecture, Security Design in solution and data transfer etc.
Project management experience including a complicated one
Experience with working with international teams and local suppliers.
Qualified candidates must have no issue in working in Japan and travel overseas
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Japanese & English speaking is a must
